Jonathan Simmonds (1814~1888)


Jonathan Simmonds, the son of Jonathan Simmonds and Mary Bragg was born in 1814. He was christened in Rougham, Suffolk on the 2nd August 1814. According to the 1871 census he was a Shoeing Smith.

He married Jemima Naylor in 1839 and together they had the following children:

Emma Simmonds b1842 Emma Simmonds married George Goldsmith, of the Butter Market, at St. James's Church, Bury St. Edmund's on the 12th of March 1868.

At the time of Emma Simmonds marriage the family were living at St. Andrews Street, North, Bury St. Edmunds.

Jonathan died on the 17th January 1888 and was burried in Bury St Edmunds cemetery.
